Default Calais to Schiphol - bus??

I'm trying to sort out travel details. Sadly I'm traveling just when
Eurostar is moving, so I wasn't able to get a seat from Ashford to
Paris.

This turns out to be quite a pain. I thought that I could hire a car
in Calais and drive to Schiphol - but all the car hire companies seem
to go home to bed at about five in the evening. So that is out.

I thought that I might hire a car in the UK and drive to Schiphol, but
the drop-off charges are just silly. I thought Hertz was bad in
wanting 650 quid, but Avis wanted nearly a 1000!!

So I thought I could catch a train. Yes, there is a train from Calais
to Schiphol, it only leaves at seven the next morning to get to
Schiphol a couple of hours after my flight.

My current thought is to see if there is a bus. I can find references
to some things like eurobus, but no web-sites.

Are there buses that you can catch in Calais that will take you to
Paris, or Amsterdam? Any web-sites you can suggest to get timetables?

It's not clear where you are starting from.

You can travel from London to Schiphol via Brussels and Eurostar and
Thalys

There are trains to Harwich and boats from Harwich to the Hook,
with train connections from there to Schipol. Might be worth a
look-see. Use http://bahn.hafas.de which takes you through a skip
to the Deutsche Bahn schedule engine. When searching, be sure to
go to "Means of transport" and choose "without ICE" or it will
only give you the Eurostar to Brussels routing.
