WOO HOO! Doin' the Doc Dance!

I'm doing the dance! Just got my docs today for my January 3rd departure on
HAL's ms Statendam. Looking forward to spending 7 days with a whole bunch of
bells ringers and hopefully meeting (and hearing!) some nice folks from the
JazzSea group.

I think it's the sister ship of the flagship, ms Amsterdam or one of
those other "dam" ships. ;-)

We just got off the Statendam yesterday. Some good and some less good
stuff - I'll write a more complete review when I get caught up with my

We just got off the Statendam yesterday. Some good and some less good
stuff - I'll write a more complete review when I get caught up with my
email.

We had a 15 day sail on the Statendam in 2001, San Diago to the Hawaiian
Island and back. I loved that ship and had a wonderful time with good
friends. On a sad note, I got word that my only surviving sister passed
away on the last day of the cruise.
I hope this ship is still in good shape and that the service is as
awesome as it was in 2001.

I've been on the Veendam (a sister ship with a similar layout) twice (2002
and 2005), and I'm really looking forward to this cruise as well. It is so
nice to be on a ship where you almost instantly know where things are. I do
wonder if this will be one of my last HAL cruises where they still have good
old "main" seating dinning with set table asisgnments. I also hope HAL gets
things updated so they show more shore excursion options for both Mayaguez
and Nassau.
