Default Anyone from OZ ever Visit Tahiti?

Has anyone from Australia visited the main island of Tahiti and/or
Moorea? What is it like? I have heard it is very expensive. Much more
than Oz? The weather is hot?

Yes. Noice. Not cheap. A bit. Weather is tropical.
But if you really want some info try http://www.tahiti-tourisme.com/

Long, long time ago.

Very, very pretty scenery.

Not cheap. Original Tahitian culture of Gaugin and Margaret Mead completely
destroyed by French colonialism. The people mostly live in fibro shanty
towns.

I did a deal at a mid priced resort - shopped around a few by cab, and
negotiated a rate for an extended stay (10 days?). There's not really very
much to do, the only nightlife occurs within the resorts. By day, its travel
around admiring the scenery, or so-so diving, depending I guess upon where
you are.

It was OK as a stopover, don't know if I would make a special trip to be
honest ...
