TRY NOT TO EVER COMPLAIN ABOUT PRE-CAUTIONARY DELAYS

When it happened at Hartsfield-Jackson Monday a week ago, I actually
told people that I was glad they had shut it down temporarily,
apparently delaying everything about two hours

Like the 40mph winds played a 'big role' in the crash? I think not!

Surely the wind figures in the phenomena, not the only or "major" mal-
factor

Is 40mph considered normal & routine flyable? I dunno, though it
sounds like the airport shoulda been shutdown

I perceive Lexington, Buffalo & Corme sp? as each being of multi-
factors in dynamics weather, training, mechanical et al

I have taken off once in 35mph winds w/50mph gusts from CVG. It was a
very bumpy ride all the way to DTW where we landed in 45mph winds.

It was via NW on a CRJ regional jet.

and i'll bet you'll never forget

i rode on air tran from atl to mobile in the previous century

it was the day after tornadoes touched down in the area/region

it was almost a barf bag deal for me, vowing to myself not to ride an
airplane again

i don't keep new year resolutions and such

Was once waiting to board a DASH-8 at Toronto island. It was a pretty
strong snow storm, with huge wind gusts. There were times where we could
barely see the plane from the old historic terminal.

I was chatting with other passengers and we all expected this flight to
be rather bumpy and hoping no passenger would upchuck during the flight.

We boarded aircraft, the pilot started engines, rolled to runway,
accelerated, took of and while there was a tiny bit of shaking for a few
seconds, there was nothing out of the ordinary and before we knew it,
the flight was smooth and above the storm. The storm had not yet reached
montreal, so the landing there was normal.
