Default SNCF: Urgent Info

I've bought on-line a ticket to the TGV. The SNCF have sent the ticket to
me.
Is it mandatory to do any short of validation at the ticket office at the
station before i get into the train?

Best regards

There are machines at every station where you must punch the ticket before
proceeding to the platform. They are yellow if I remember correctly.

Yes, you have to stamp it in an orange validation machine - sort of the same
size as a parking metre - of which you will have to pass many as you go onto
the platform

Yes, when you will enter the train, stamp your ticket on the orange
machines...

Others have replied, but just in case, to stamp the ticket is to "compost"
it...as in je veut composter mon billet....

Compost usage in english is the equivalent of "trash" or discarded.
When you compost (punch) your ticket you have used it. No refund after that.
