NZ travel info hold the sheep talk

Assuming that this is still a travel info group, and hasn't totally been
over run with the current sheep issues, I am looking for ideas on how to
spend 8 days with a camper van on the North Island. What are the must see
places and some off the beaten track places. Any info on renting a camper
would be appreciated.
I would also like to encourage people to use appropriate groups for their
messages, we are going to Australia and your letters won't change that, in
the future when I travel to Saudi Arabia I will perhaps boycott the imported
lamb, in the meantime move to another group and quite ruining a perfectly
good travel listing.
