Default US controls in HNL on a YVR-NAN flight?

I'm thinking of flying YVR-NAN later this year and wonder if anyone
knows if passengers are subject to controls/inspections (etc.) by US
agencies during the technical stop in HNL. Do passengers have to
deplane?
