I also discovered today that you can get Euro travelers checks at the
AAA. Their conversion rate was 1.28 which is a bit above the 1.21 that I found on the web (don't know if that is realistic) but there was no fee for the checks. I have an Amewrican Express Optimum or some name like that which is free to have but gets 2% on conversions.
