Ryanair considers a fat tax.

Furthermore, whilst other companies believe that to increase business you have to be nice to your customers (customer-focused), Ryanair seems to believe that you boost business by being as mean-spirited, unhelpful, inaccessible and nasty to your customers as you possibly can. Even after adding the fees onto the base fare, they are usually far cheaper than the competition, including Easyjet. My cousin worked for Delta for 25 years. Most of it in marketing. No matter what passengers say about being willing to pay more for food, legroom, etc., it always came down to price. So American Airlines reconfigured their planes to more legroom, then back to less legroom, and all the airlines (except Southwest) began nickel and diming passengers that used any extra services. Ryanair isn't the only airline that succeeds by being mean-spirited and unhelpful. In the U.S., Jetblue has done things that make Ryanair look like a model for good customer service. Ryanair could add a fee for not arresting you for using your camera on board. |
