Train Tickets from Hanoi to Guilin
Can anyone recommend a reliable place in either Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi to get
tickets from Hanoi to Guilin? Will the train station at either place be best? I am sure they they can be had from other reliable sellers. Thanks in advance. rg

A Mate said; I thought there was a break in that line. To be repaired - but! Who knows when! I googled around a bit and it does appear the line has been disrupted by landslides. I wonder if this break is between Hanoi and Dong Dang or on the China side? It appears the line is running between Pingxiang and Nanning but I wonder what the easiest way is to get from Hanoi to Pingxiang? rg

but I wonder what the easiest way is to get from Hanoi to Pingxiang? I walked over the border to Vietnam and got a Ford Transit minibus/mail delivery van ride to Hanoi. Bus driver booked a room from $7 hotel. I walked 30 meters between China and hotel room. Try the opposite way.
