Adventure of the Seas Review 19 Sep 2004 Sailing
Hello Everybody,
Well I arrived home yesterday from a wonderful cruise on the Adventure of the Seas that sailed out of San Juan, PR on 19 Sep 2004. I did have some reservations about sailing on this large of a ship. The only time this was a problem was disembarkation, but it wasn't too bad. I guess this is a little disorganized. I might send something a little more organized with a couple of pictures to seacruisereveiews in the next couple of days. The only real downside of the cruise - the Ship Photographers were down right rude! They would just order people about, and not ask people to do things. I have not been treated that way since I was in the military. The ships photographers need to go to people skills school. We flew into San Juan a day early. Because of the last hurricane the power was out in most of San Juan. The hotel we stayed in was running off a generator. They had power for one light in the room, but no air conditioning. Some of the stores in Old San Juan were open and some were not. We went over to the port about 2:00 P.M., the boarding process went smooth. We were on board shortly. This is a beautiful ship. The Promenade Deck is really nice. It is almost a city street. Lots of things take place on the Promenade Deck. The Ice Show is also nice. The ports were good. The dinning room and the theatre are really good. We had a really wonderful time. One of the passengers said the theatre looked like Radio City Music Hall. I took a lot of pictures. Not really sure what I am going to do will all the pictures. St. Maarten - Front Street is torn up, but the shops are open. In Aruba we went to a Latin Show at the Casino. They do this show 6 nights a week. On board ship - they had a pool for adults only. In St. Thomas we took a tour of St. John. Not sure it was worth it. By the time you take the ferry over there, you only have a little bit of time to spend on St. John. roland |
