Default What is this red and white luggage tag?

I just returned from a round trip on Southwest Airlines. When I got
home, I noticed that the return-trip baggage handlers put two tags on
my suitcase.

One was the usual barcoded tag with my name, destination, et cetera.

The other was about 2" wide and 4 1/2" long, and was attached to the
handle with an elastic string. It had diagonal red and white stripes
on both sides, which were interrupted on one side by a rectangular
white space where somebody might write information (but nobody did).
I'm curious: does anybody know what this is?

'Short Connection' or 'heavy bag' tag?

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.

Heavy bag, perhaps. I loaded it within a few pounds of the 50-pound
free limit. Odd, though, that they'd set a limit, then put a special
tag on a bag that's just under it.

Tag is to alert baggage handlers to avoid injury when loading it.

It's to make sure the baggage handlers don't injure themselves when they
pick it up.

I know that in the UK they put a tag on everything over about 30 lbs.
