Familiar with the cruise not the ship... took same itinerary on Carnival
Victory At St Johns take the photographers tour... even if you don't take pictures. Great guide, small group (in a van, not a bus) At halafax, everyone seems stuck on Peggy's Cove, but it is not a big deal at all. if you must see Peggy's Cove, rent a car and do it yourself. the excursion is not worth it. Otherwise walk the boardwalk near the dock and stop at attractions along the way. The maritime museum is nice Paul In article , "*ANONYMOUS*" wrote: WE WILL BE VISITING THE FOLLOWING PORTS ON OUR CRUISE. CARNIVAL CRUISE SHIP: TRIUMPH (FROM NEW YORK) ST. It depends on your day I guess. the day we went the fog was as heavy giving the area a very eerie feel. We took some great shots of partially obstructed fishing boats, the color in the boats standing out from the terminal grayness of the rocks and fog. The Citidel is picturesque and there is a brewery near the dock that gives tours and tastes. In article , "*ANONYMOUS*" wrote: WE WILL BE VISITING THE FOLLOWING PORTS ON OUR CRUISE. THANK YOU. We'll be doing the same tour the following week ... We have minivans rented for both ports and intend to see ... Reversing Falls and Bay of Fundy in ST. John ...and just a drive around .... We figure even with time rather tight we can at least touch on in Halifax ... Peggy's Cove ... The Citadel ... The Maritime Museum ... Alexander Keith's Brewery ... and the Casino ... My wife and I have been there a couple of times before ... so we'll be flexible for the other four ... |

My wife and I took an RCCL ship to Canada/New England a few years back.
It was wonderful, well except the Bay of Fundie. We hit a North Eastern there... that was not fun. We are going back this fall for our 25th Anniversary, on a RCCL ship. There are a lot of different things to do in the Canadian cities. One of them had a double decker bus that would give you a tour of the city. (I don't remember which one now, it has been a few years.) One city had a pub tour through the ship. There is a Maritime Museum in Halifax. I believe it was Halifax that had a piper on the pier. In one city in Nova Scotia there is a place made up like an old Scottish village. Lots to do and see. roland |

Close to Peggy's Cove (you can see it) is the memorial to SwissAir flight 111. Worth seeing. Very touching. Spend 5 minutes at the site, and say a prayer. --Tom |

The brewery is not a working brewery. It's more like a Disney attraction - built specifically for the tour. The tour costs around $10 CDN if I remember. It's more of a show than a brewery tour. There are actors reciting a script that explain the history of their company. You get walked through a series of different rooms built for the tour - when I asked some questions abouat their brewing process they didn't know the answers and seemed put off because their recitation was interrupted. There's some singing and guitar playing and you get one or two quick tastes during the walkthru (depending on how fast you can down a beer....). As I say, it's not a brewery tour, it's a show to highlight the history of the company in a theatrical set. You may like it, I thought it way too expensive, uninformative and fake. Like I say, some may like it but I thought it a first class tourist trap. I wish I'd asked some questions before paying my admission. AG -- who admits to being a home brewer and was disappointed at not seeing a working brewery. "jcoulter" wrote in message .. .
