Default Stewardess with Beard Problem - Help!

Hi, my name is Althea and I'm a flight attendant for a major US airline. I'm
60 years old. I've just recently finished going through menopause. I'm
happy the hot flashes and the mood swings are over, but it seems menopause
has left me with a little present...a moustache and a beard. I've tried
everything, from plucking and shaving to bleaching and waxing. I even tried
electrolysis but it hurt too much, and the hairs still came back, they just
took a little longer. So I gave up on that. The problem now is the hairs
are growing in more rapidly and coursely as time goes by. This is
especially a problem when I have to go away for several days at a time, as I
do several times a month since I mostly work long overseas flights. I
wonder what passengers think when they notice their female flight attendant
has a beard at the end of their overnight flight to Europe. I don't have
time before we land to sneak away to the lavatory and shave with a razor and
foam, it takes too long and besides the other F/A's would wonder what I'm
doing in there so long when I need to be out preparing the galley and cabin
for landing. But if I use an electric razor they can hear the racket
through the door and then they'll really wonder what's going in there. They
might think I'm pleasuring myself with some mechanical adult toy! The
last thing I need is a planeful of gossiping flight attendants snickering
and whispering behind my back. For other mature ladies out
there, how have you handled this problem, and what works for you?

Thank you,
Althea

After looking at the whois and the crossposts, and keeping in mind this
might be a troll:

Have you consulted your physician?

I may be doing you a dis-service, but I remember a post *extremely* similar
to this one a few years ago,& it turned out that that person was a troll.

And, now that I just noticed the headers & see that it's x-posted, incl. to
alt.tasteless, I'm even more suspicious...

Learn to mimic an eastern European accent - and passengers will ignore your
appearance.

Really.

I think so also. It's unfortunate that people do this because it could
be a real concern. My vote is that is it bogus.
