Ditto. O'Hare to Wrigley of Cellular is two trains. :3) What parts of Chicago is it best not be around late at night?. Depends on how much street smarts you have. I was told that the Leicster(sp?) Square was dangerous. I didn't find it a big deal. I grew up in Chicago. :4) Does the `El` run 24-hours-a-day?. Not the Brown line. :5) Is there any WAL-MART's in or around Winthrop Harbor No idea where that is. :6) Is the Pedway system Chicago's equovalent of the London :Underground?. Never heard of the "Pedway system". Isn't the underground your subway system? :7)Is there any cinema's in Winthrop Harbor?. Not a clue. -- Binyamin Dissen http://www.dissensoftware.com |

A couple of questions about Chicago / Winthrop Harbor
Ben Smith wrote:
1) Where is the nearest Train station to Navy Pier?. Nearest Metra station (terminal for the suburban line from Winthrop Harbor) is Ogilvie Transportation Center, 2 km from Navy Pier. CTA bus 124 runs from the station to Navy Pier. 2) How many miles roughly is it from O' Hare Airport to Winthrop Harbor, Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox?, are there any buses that run to any or all of them?. O'Hare to Winthrop Harbor is about 30 miles/50 km. There is no direct public transportation O'Hare to Wrigley Field (Cubs) is about 10 miles/16 km; take the Blue Line train to Addison and transfer to an eastbound 152 bus. O'Hare to US Cellular Field (Sox) is about 18 miles/25 km; take the Blue Line to Washington and transfer to a southbound Red Line train to 35th. 3) What parts of Chicago is it best not be around late at night?. Parts of Englewood, Garfield Park, Roseland, and Hamilton Park. Winthrop Harbor is probably more dangerous than any parts of Chicago you're likely to visit. 4) Does the `L` run 24-hours-a-day?. Only the Red and Blue lines. 5) Is there any WAL-MART's in or around Winthrop Harbor Yes. Wal-Mart Store #1167 is at 4404 52nd Street in Kenosha (Wisconsin), about 8 miles away. Wal-Mart Store #1668 is at 6590 Grand Avenue in Gurnee, about 11 miles away. The Gurnee store can be reached by bus line 565 from downtown Waukegan. 6) Is the Pedway system Chicago's equovalent of the London Underground? No the Pedway system is a limited system of pedestrian tunnels through building basements and under streets in Chicago's Loop. 7)Is there any cinema's in Winthrop Harbor?. No. Belvidere Cinema is located about 10 miles south at 2111 Belvidere Rd, Waukegan. Gurnee Cinema is located about 11 miles southwest at 6116 Grand Ave, Gurnee. The Gurnee location can be reached by bus line 565 from downtown Waukegan. Winthrop Harbor is a small, working-class municipality on the Wisconsin border 45 miles north of Chicago. The only public transportation is a limited number of Metra suburban trains each day. |

"Winthrop Harbor is probably more dangerous than any parts of Chicago you're likely to visit." ^^^^^^ Of course, if you are likely to visit the parts that sell crack you might find it a wee bit more dangerous. -- Binyamin Dissen http://www.dissensoftware.com |
