Default Couple more questions... HAL's new tipping policy - Here'sHow...

Mason... $1 per drink.... But how many drinks? I'm not even up to the
category of "social drinker", but I would guess my bar bill (including
all the coke I drink) would be somewhere in the neighbourhood of 200
bucks --minimum, for a 10 day cruise. ...So what's that? 30 bucks in
tips? How about if I spent all day kicking back the cocktails as I see
many people do? ...Jon

Jean... I was just looking at one of my HAL bar receipts from last
March. ...There is no tip added to the bill -- hidden or otherwise.
..Jon

Jon, I just went to check my receipts from Hal and it is listed as a
service charge, not a tip...I have one in front of me that has 2 cans of
Sprite charged as 2 @ $1.75 = $3.50
Service charge _.53____
$4.03
Total
So they are using the term "service charge" instead of tip, 15% of $3.50 is
53 cents.

Ok, Jean, but that is the "new policy" I mentioned in my post. ...All
my cokes from last March were a straight $1.75 -- total price charged..

Hi Grandma... The 10 bucks pp per day pool will probably be split up
and appear on each of the crew's cheques as a "bonus" ....By personally
giving someone a 5 or 10 after a 10 days cruise, is like going to a
fancy restaurant then leaving a paltry couple of bucks for a tip.
