AUSTRALIA'S sheep export crisis deepened yesterday when quarantine
authorities ordered a ship holding 80,000 animals be held in Fremantle
until they cleared a thorough veterinary examination.

The Al Kuwait had been due to sail for Kuwait last night, but The West
Australian understands it was likely to be delayed a day while the
quarantine inspection was conducted and bureaucrats sought cast-iron
guarantees the sheep would be accepted in Kuwait.

Saudi Arabia and 20 other countries have refused to accept 50,000
sheep on the ship Cormo Express, and the Federal Government was warned
yesterday its plans to return them to WA opened the nation's farm
industry to the risk of devastation from exotic diseases.

Looks like Austrailian sheep dudes ought to limit their shipping contracts
to companies that use the old LST form factor.

That way, when the Arabs decide to decline accepting the sheeps they
ordered, the shipping companies can just ram the bow on shore somewhere in
Kuwait or Saudi Arabia, open the front doors, herd them suckers ashore,
leave the bill, and sail off into the sunset.

Why doesn't our government stop pretending they are tough ****s and just
kill the 6% of sheep the Saudi's reackon are diseased.

This government seems to want to pretend they actually have power in the
world, they just ****ed up selling a shipment of sheep and now it's all
coming back home again costing the Aussie taxpayer a couple of million
dollars.
