Tip for people with more than 1 piece of hand luggage travelling from Heathrow. You will be stopped from going to the departures lounge (where there are no seats and you MUST shop) for 'security reasons'. But if you put all items in a large plastic bag then you are not a 'security threat' and will be allowed to pass........5 metres later you can re-arrange as you like and no one gives-a-****. Heathrow is not that bad. The security is understandably strict, and the lines are long, but the facilities are good, and you can take the Tube directly from the airport to central London. I certainly prefer it to Schipol or Athens' airport, just to name a few. |

Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach Time for tea. |

AFAIAA You are still only allowed to take1 piece of hand luggage through security when departing from all UK airports. There were seats in the departure lounges last time I flew from Heathrow. Jan and what difference does it make to security ?? It gives them a place to sit down. I still don't understand why you must shop, for security reasons. |
