I have the same question, but I'd like to add the word "secure".

I don't know what type of accommodations the original poster is looking for
but we've stayed at the Fairfield Inn near the airport a few times & have
never had any problems. Although there's not much in the area (a few places
to eat within walking distance) - the place is clean & they provide a free
shuttle to both the airport & on weekends to the ship terminal. They
provide free parking when on a cruise also continental breakfast in the
mornings. The Address is 3959 NW 79 Th. St. Tel Nbr. 1-800-228-2800. I
booked on the Internet for $59 last year this time.

No Richard, nothing close at all. A very few hotels that are near the
airport about 20-30 minutes away offer free parking and even fewer offer any
type of shuttle. Parking in Miami is expensive and the parking at the pier
is as cheap or cheaper than you will find in downtown Miami and secure which
much of Miami is not for parking.
