Default Port of Miami parking

Headed out on the Facination in March. Cruise departure is at 4:00 pm. What
time should we arrive at the Port of Miami to be able to park our vehicle there?
Is there any off site parking available, in case we would elect to park that
way? Thanks in advance!

We went on the Carnival Triumph this past February....parking was in the lot
adjacent to the pier where the ships port. It was 10/day and it was a huge
lot so parking was plenty. You could always find a hotel that will allow
you to park in their lot but I don't know of any that do that off hand.
Then you could take a taxi or shuttle to the port to catch the cruise.

There is a large parking garage that was just built at the Port of Miami for
cruise passengers. I personally recommend getting there about noon to get
the shorter lines and get on board as soon as they will let you. There is
offsite parking downtown, but by the time you add up the costs of the
shuttle, or a taxi, and you are probably better off parking at the pier.
Also, the Port of Miami is very secure since there is only one road in and
out, and it is guarded. You must present a cruise document and photo ID, or
an employee ID to get by.
