Busch Garden (Tampa) vs Disney's Animal Kingdom
Hi,
I'm going to visit one of the 2 parks - Busch Gardens or Animal Kingdom in a week. We (myself, wife, 2 daughters - 1 and 3 years old) want to spend a day there and we don't know which one we should choose. It's basically trip for kids which love animals - so any suggestions will be very welcomed. thanks in advance |

Busch Garden (Tampa) vs Disney's Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom for small kids is better than IOA, yes.
A couple of things to remember about Animal Kingdom.... The park can be confusing - my husband after over a dozen times there still can't find his way around. Take your time and don't hesitate to ask for directions if you need them. As soon as you enter the park, you will have your choice of a left hand walkway or a righthand walkway. Choose one, take your time (let the hoardes going for the "thrills" run right by you) and there's lots of animals to see immediately. Just do the other side on your way out. In front of the Tree of Life, there are a lot of animal and bird exhibits. If you are lucky, you'll get to see a sea otter swimming around. Again, take your time, explore the paths. Do not miss the two nature trails - one in Asia and one in Africa. The Cast Members here are some of the best and will be more than happy to talk about the animals you will see. Go to Rafiki's Conservation Station (or whatever they are calling it now). Kids can pet the animals there. If the kids are really into animals, don't miss Flights of Wonder, a bird show that highlights the bird's natural talents - you won't see one riding a bicycle or anything. But the best is at the end of the show when kids (and adults) are invited to go up and see the birds very up close. FastPass the Safari for ease. You will have to remove the kids from their strollers along the queue line. It'll look like you'll never find it again but you will. Just prepare the kids for either a walk or a carry the rest of the way. That's why FastPass for your situation is a must. When you board your jeep, put the kids in the middle with you and your wife on the outside. It's a bumpy ride (not scary) so hold on to them. When the kids start going a little insane, take them to the Boneyard and let them loose. Lots of sand for digging, lots of things for climbing. Primeval Whirl is over there in Dinoland and that's a lot of fun for the little ones. One more thing - the paths here are a little rough so it might be tough to push a stroller around. Hope this helps! (pablitox) wrote in message . com... "Robert Bottoms" wrote: However, if you are going to Florida, don't miss Universal's Islands of Adventure!! I have only one day - I guess AK is better than Islands of Adventure for small kids. Correct? |

Many of us here in Florida think that Busch Gardens is a better deal -- more to do & see, more bang for the buck. But with two little ones, I'd stick to AK for more laid back and some would say, quality entertainment. [Rog'] |

Young kids will probably prefer AK...though the Busch parks do have
some nice play areas for young kids. However, Busch Gardens has much better opportunites to get up close and personal with the big animals. |
