Luggage: Does size matter?

Don't you think they'll advise you to put it in your carry-on?

The last time I saw someone do that, with an item that had been rejected
for carry-on by security, the ticket agent pulled out a cardboard box,
taped the item inside the box, and put the passenger's name and address
etc on the outside.

Unless it is properly packaged, the agent will have you sign a waiver
to excuse the carrier of liability for damage. But the carrier has no
reason to reject the baggage check in is what I think

No minimum size. They would most likley put your hypothetical deck of
cards in a thick plastic bag and send it on it's way.
