www.yamasa.org, near Nagoya. Organized (you'd be amazed how many aren't)
and respected.

In Kobe you could study at the YMCA.

http://www.yamasa.org is a long way from Kawasaki. And Kobe is even further.

There are three accredited schools in Kawasaki.

College of Business and Communication
22-9 Ekimaehonmachi Kawasaki-Ward Kawasaki-City Kanagawa-Prefecture
Tel 044-244-3959 Fax 044-244-2499

Kohwa Institute of Japanese Language
11-2 Higasitamachi Kawasaki-Ward Kawasaki-City Kanagawa-Prefecture
Tel 044-233-4261 Fax 044-246-2801

Logos International Institute
St.Ruricol 2Floor 356 Nakamaruko Nakahara-Ward Kawasaki-City
Kanagawa-Prefecture
Tel 044-433-3663 Fax 044-433-1811

If you have to live in Kawasaki, then of the three the first one has the
"not as bad" reputation so to speak. It would be very helpful though
to be all ready able to ready kanji prior to enrollment, as each of the
three are basically cram schools for chinese high school graduates.

Reading is always a problem:-)
I just realised that I wrote "all ready" instead of "already". Perhaps
I've been here too long.
