liquor rules on HAL
Was on Maasdam several years ago which had a liquor shop where you could
purchase bottles to either use on board or take home (duty free delivered to cabin on last day). Prices for both were very reasonable with a large selection. Don't know if this is still an option. If the link is broken, go to the Home Page. Then scroll down and click Passenger Policies and click appropriate links. http://www.hollandamerica.com/guests...&topic=alcohol Essentially it says you can bring wine and champagne on board at the point of embarkation. Anything else you buy on board, or at ports-of-call will be held until the end of your cruise. It will be given to you when you disembark. -- ________ To email me, Edit "xt" from my email address. That is another indication that Carnival has cheapened the cruise experience on HAL ; It was bound to happen with the cheaper cruise fares. IMHO, if a cruise line has set the fares so low that they have to resort to confiscating passenger's liquor to increase onboard sales, it is not a line I want to travel on; they will have cut costs elsewhere. Also, if the fellow passengers want to bring large amounts of their own alcohol onboard to save money, they are not people I want to cruise with. They are either big boozers or don't have much discretionary income. I agree. This is a real step down in HAL's attitude to passengers. Mason Barge "If this is coffee, please bring me some tea.
