Travel insurance - Spain
Some companies offer insurance cover for all of Europe excluding Spain. Has
anyone any idea why Spain should be regarded as a special case for insurance purposes? Just curious really. -- Mike Lane UK North Yorkshire mike_lane at mac dot com |

Couple of guesses- 1. Most popular destination for UK tourists- so rather deft advertising ploy! 2. (Probably most) popular destination for drunk UK tourists. -- (*) of the royal duchy of city south and deansgate www.davidhorne.net (email address on website) "[Do you think the world learned anything from the first world war?] No. They never learn." -Harry Patch (1898-2009) |

Hello,
Market research has shown that Spain is the top destination in Europe for Brits. But one thing you shouldn't leave home without is a good travel insurance policy. One provider InsureandGo offers policies for European short breaks to extended trips that include over 50 adventure sports automatically and cover under 18s for free. I've never seen more smashed windshields in my life than in Seville. If it's car insurance, that might be the reason. As far as regular travel insurance I can't imagine that Spain is much more of a risk than other parts of Europe. Barcelona has a reputation for pickpocketing, but so do Paris, Rome, and Prague. |
