United sets D.C. fare

United Airlines has begun offering fares of $99 each way on its new
nonstop between Sacramento and Washington, D.C. The flights begin June 3.

The fares match the introductory price set by JetBlue Airways, which
begins nonstops to the nation's capital May 4.

The United tickets must be purchased by May 10, and the fares are good
for travel through August 29.

On Jetblue I can buy a one-way for the advertised "each-way" price, and I
can change the departure date (or even the destination) for $25. Try that on
United.

Normally when the one way fares are matched, don't the majors let you
buy them one way?
