Default Surcharge for kids?

Just noticed in looking at flights from US to Europe on Continental,
if I put in 3 adults, I get one fare. If I put in 2 adults + 1 kid,
the child's fare is $200 more for the same flight. Has Continental
started charging a surcharge for kids? I haven't seen this on other
carriers yet.

Note, we've flown this route many times, this is the first time I've
seen this!
