1 week deal on Princess Cruises!
Hi, I'm not a big cruiser myself (I'm a landlubber, put my at Sandals Negril and I'm HAPPY!) but I've got a special 1 week sale on Princess Cruises this week! What does this mean for you? I can offer you a reduced deposit rate of $100 if you book during September 22-29th! Keep in mind 2009 sailing require a deposit of 20% of the cruise fare. Each cabin also receives up to 2 Coupon Booklets with $120 of onboard savings. So if you've been sitting on the edge deciding whether or not to go NOW may be the time to make the decision. -- Hackamore http://www.hackamore.com http://hackamoretravel.blogspot.com |

I've gotten good deals both ways... for example last fall break wife and I wanted to go to Jamaica... but didn't book far enough in advance and EVERY seat to Jamaica on the required dates were booked... so we went to Miami... Miami was nice and all... but it wasn't Couples Negril! -- Hackamore http://www.hackamore.com http://hackamoretravel.blogspot.com |

1 week deal on Princess Cruises!
"Hackamore" wrote now that you've shown you lack of a vocabulary wait until january and fork out 20% deposit. Is 20% really that much of a difference from the average $250pp deposits most cruise lines currently have? I'm not sure about everyone else, but the Princess cruises I've taken have been under $1000 per person, so really, the deposit will be LESS than what the deposits are now. And those fabulous (sarcasm) coupon books are a joke. Princess has better books than most lines, but that isn't saying much. I've used the buy 1 get 1 free martini coupon and maybe a match play for the casino, but none of the others. I personally think it's ok to use a coupon at the grocery store, but it embarrasses me a little to use one on a ship. It smacks of CHEAP! And although I'm cheap in general, I'm not when I cruise. So a 10% off photo coupon is useless to me (not that I buy ship photos anyway). Unless it's onboard credit the "perks" never influence my decision on when or what to book. But then I'm probably a far cry from the average cruiser. I rarely book a cruise more than a month out (and that's pushing it) Normally within 2 weeks of sailing I'll book. And in a couple cases it was less than a week. LES! |

Even before I was in the trade Couples (AI Resort) treated me really well as a repeat customer. BeachFront Suite Upgrades from Garden Standard, spa credit, waiting iced Champagne, etc. My "regular" places in Paris and Amsterdam gave me little extra perks too (the oddest was in Amsterdam where they gave me a key to the elevator... they wanted to discourage people using it to go to/from the ground floor... but for me...) I'm sure your favorite cruise line is similar... they want to keep that repeat customer. I've done the last minute deal to Europe several times... but I've had my passport for 40 years so that wasn't a hangup. (closest was book monday morning leave wed to amsterdam) but we both have to admit we're not the "typical" traveler. most people have to fit their vacation type travel around their kids school and their work schedule... so they HAVE to plan ahead... if they wait until a week before spring break they'll find everybody else has already booked the better destinations/cruises/whatever. -- Hackamore http://www.hackamore.com http://hackamoretravel.blogspot.com |

[Default] Thus spake "Babie" :

Is 20% really that much of a difference from the average $250pp deposits most cruise lines currently have? $250 would be a $1250 pp price at 20%. So 20% MIGHT be a little more. But I'll bet we see deposits start to creep up on all the lines. DCL's "deposit" on their Cat1-3 suites are non refundable. |
