Default American politics on European travel

Why do Americans find the need to discuss their politics on a newsgroup for
European travel. I have visited the States a number of times and am fond of
the Americans but their politics should be confined to other newsgroups

While I agree that I'd prefer to see the politics elsewhere, I think part
of the reason it is here is to engage Europeans.

And because this newsgroup has a few trolls.

If you meant 'enrage' I'd agree

I think a little of both is happening.

While I agree that I'd prefer to see the politics elsewhere, I think

part
of the reason it is here is to engage Europeans.

And because this newsgroup has a few trolls.

And because of rampant cross-posting. It will help if responders in
r.t.e. delete the many additional newsgroups that appear in the OP's
post. I can tolerate our own idiots pretty well, but there are millions
more out there sneaking in through cross-posting.

It's relevant to the extent that many travelers are concerned (rightly
or wrongly) about European anti-Americanism.
