Car takes the metro!

Tue 16/01/07 - Brussels metro staff had the surprise of their life this
morning after two men attempted to drive their car down onto the
platform of the metro station Zwarte Vijvers (Etangs noirs) in Brussels
on Monday night.
(VRT)
The vehicle first hit some shutters in the hall on the upper floor then
it attempted to negotiate a flight of stairs.

The car was driven down the stairs that are located next to the
escalator.

The car got no further than the landing half way down the stairs.

It is thought that the driver may have been trying to drive his vehicle
to the metro station platform, but the car got stuck half way down.

The car in question is a blue Ford Fiesta. It was carrying stolen
number plates.

Metro services were not affected by this strange manoeuvre.

After the incident the two men made off. Witnesses were able to give
the police a vague description of the guys.

The police also took finger prints.

In order to prevent any further damage, the car is being transported to
another underground station using a crane vehicle.

The photo of the Fiesta at the bottom of what looks like an escalator is worth
seeing.

And there was I thinking "Climate resets 'Doomsday Clock'" was more
noteworthy!

Are you going to give up your internal combustion vehicle or do you just like
reading about the current forecast for imminent invent Armageddon?

You won't want to know about Lidl's beer offer this week.

I'm drinking Dab instead. It's on special.

During dinner I will enjoying a lovely bottle of Barbera Del
Monferrato, which is a fizzy red. I'm not usually a fan a fizzy wine,
but this stuff is exceptional.
