Airline deals to Alaska

I'm planning to visit Alaska in July possibly during the July 4th
weekend. I was wondering if anyone came across any deals to Alaska
around that time.

Avoid cruise ship sailing dates, if possible, when flying to Alaska.
With the value of the dollar (LOL, see other thread) from last summer,
more Americans are expected to visit places in the country, and flights
to Alaska are expected to be fuller than usual for the summer. Are you
only planning on going for the weekend? From where?

Not many, as that time period is in the middle of the brief tourist
season. Although - considering the distance - the fares are not
unreasonable. SFO to ANC at that time of year will cost ~$500. And
personally, I like flying on Alaska Airline.

That's a busy time to be trying to get a low fare! It might help if
you indicated _where_ you'll be traveling from, and _where_ in Alaska
you're planning to go. (I live in Juneau, and _only_ Alaska Airlines
flies here, for example... unless you go by way of Whitehorse, Yukon;
Anchorage, OTOH has a lot more carriers).

Thanks for all your replies. We'll be flying from Phily and I think
we'll be going to Anchorage at first. We are going to explore nature
and wildlife and I'm yet to shortlist the attractions. We are planning
to spend a week there. I searched for fares on the web and the lowest
I could find is $580 - round trip. I'm curious if anyone knows of any
bargain sites or sites that list airline deals.
