boston area hotel help needed

Looking for a reaasonably priced (for boston) hotel near boston where
a shuttle will take you to area transportation, subway, train, etc.
Recently went there and thought we were staying out (Dorchester) with
an easy to find hotel . . . HA HA! Never dit find it - stayed
somewhere else. Can handle the subway so next time want to stay
further out. Thanks for your help.

What's your definition of reasonably priced? Boston area hotel rates
tend to be among the highest in the country for some reason. I have had
good experiences staying at the Double Tree in Cambridge, right at
Harvard Square, but I don't know what the rates there are now.

There is an article in Dec/Jan Frommer's Budget Travel magazine about
affordable Boston hotels, subway stops mentioned too
