Composing flights
Hello
Does anyone know a good tool for putting together round trips? I'm planning a trip, where I need to go X-Y-Z-X. There are no direct flights btw X and Y, nor btw Y and Z. Also, I would to get return tickets rather than one-way, since that is usually cheaper. So the plan would be X-H-Y-H-Z-H-X. The question is now, how to find a suitable H? Are there any nice online tools that can help with that sort of thing? Best, K |

The do not all work adequately in all parts of the world; however I would try these types of sites first. I just tried DFW-TXL (Berlin Tegel)-ZRH-DFW, for example, and they came back with the best fare on British Airways as DFW-LHR-TXL-LHR-ZRH-LHR-DFW. Lower than other carriers on my dates by a significant amount, even though LH and LX fly TXL-ZRH nonstop. |

Best, K In your example, if "H" is always the same place you may not be able to buy a round trip even if all you are doing is changing planes each time. I would say this sounds like one of those times when you need to revert to the phone. Call a couple of likely airlines then get a copy of a newspaper that carries travel ads (Sunday newspapers in many places) and phone some of the agents in there. If you happen to be in the UK try people like Trailfinders and STA. |

Thanks. Kayak doesn't handle my full flight, but it might still be useful. So far, my best results come from looking at the airport websites. They usually provide a decent overview of direct lines, which helps me pick airlines. Best, K |

In your example, if "H" is always the same place you may not be able to buy a round trip even if all you are doing is changing planes each time. My intention was to get three separate round trip tickets. I don't see why that shouldn't be possible, but of course it's a lot of bother and may not actually be very cheap, so I'll probably abandon the idea. Best, K |
