News laws in Mexico on cash and medications
I have been reading some Cruise Critic threads on Cozumel that merchants
there will no longer take US dollars because of a new law that went into effect to combat the drug cartels. They will only take pesos for cash transactions. Also some medications that were over the counter will require prescriptions. That may affect cruise passengers and tourist that have been buying meds there to save money. -- Charles |

Wachovia, Wells Fargo and several other banks have already admitted to laundering billions of illicit dollars. You really need to get out from under this cruise rock you are living and reinsert yourself into real life on Terra Firma, Chuck. -- Ari Silverstein, C.T.A; C.T.A.S, FREE Cruise Travel Advisory Services Sign up for special email deals @ www.CruiseQuick.com - Sells more cruises than 99% of the agencies in America. In the FDA's view, buying drugs in Mexico is a safety issue. Before you decide to shop at farmacias, know the law and weigh the risks. I advise for U.S. citizens not to buy a controlled substance in Mexico. But if you do, make sure you have a Mexican prescription for everything to adhere to Mexican laws. To reduce the risk of problems when reentering the U.S., have a U.S. prescription too for controlled substances. Yes, two subscriptions and two doctor visits. One in five drugs is counterfeit or substandard, there are no good ways to buy a product in Mexico and be sure it is not counterfeit. -- Ari Silverstein, C.T.A; C.T.A.S, FREE Cruise Travel Advisory Services Sign up for special email deals @ www.CruiseQuick.com - Sells more cruises than 99% of the agencies in America.
