Tibet Tour From Nepal
I could just moan about the demonstrable fact that people that read
newsgroups tend to avoid buyig services from those that spam in them. Instead, just in case someone is thinking of taking this tour....see day 1-2 4. Tour :- 7 Nights 8days Drive in Fly out Day 01 (Sat)- kathmandu (1300m)- Zhangmu (2500m) Nyalam (3700m): 123km/165km Early morning scenic drive to KODARI (Nepal Tibet border) the beautiful Nepalese countryside and after necessary border formalities both at Nepalese & Chinese immigration, check-in to hotel. Overnight at hotel. Day 02 Zhangmu/Nyalam – Xegar/ Lhatse (4050m):200/244km Day drive uphill to the highest plateau of world with the typical view of Tibeten landscape offering sheer felling of standing on the roof of the world crossing over LALUNG-LA(5050m) weather permitting with breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalayan ranges including Mt. Everest (8848m) &Mt. Xishapagma (8012m) but dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau. Overnight at hotel. Inside two days, you will progress from near sea level to over 5000m altitude. No acclimatisation, no rest days...and presumably no help when you develop HAPE etc. Speaking as someone who has ascended from 2800 to 4800m in a morning sitting in a truck cab, that's quite a tall order even if you are sitting in a comfortable SUV. Don't do it :-( Rupert Fiennes |
