Going to be in Paris for four days - what are the options for discounted
travel on the metro, as opposed to just buying single journey tickets? |

In the case of metro you can do any trip on as many lines as you want, provided that you don't get out. A bundle of 10 tickets is cheaper than buying 10 individual tickets. 1 ticket t+ 1.70 10 tickets t+ 12.50 EUR Mobilis is a one day ticket you can use to go where you want using any kind of urban public urban transport (metro, RER, bus and Montmartre funicular). zones 1 - 2 (paris and nearby suburbs): 6.30 EUR zones 1 - 3 (more suburbs, for example including La Défense Grande Arche): 8.40 EUR zones 1 - 4 (more suburbs, including for example Versailles and the buses in Versailles): 10.40 EUR zones 1 - 5 (more suburbs, including CDG and Orly Airports) : 14.00 EUR Tourists several days tickets and maps can be found the http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/c_21879/tourists/ http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/c_21894/paris-visite/ http://www.ratp.fr/en/ratp/c_21891/travelling/ An undocumented alternative is to buy a Monday-Sunday workpass, can be bought until Wednesday. you have first to buy a RFID pass called Navigo Decouverte (5 EUR). Then you buy an unlimited transport week: zones 1 - 2: 18.85 EUR zones 1 - 3: 24.50 EUR zones 1 - 4: 29.80 EUR zones 1 - 5: 33.40 EUR |

Paul Aubrin:
Mobilis is a one day ticket you can use to go where you want using any kind of urban public urban transport (metro, RER, bus and Montmartre funicular). Also the "tramway" lines in some suburbs, right? zones 1 - 2 (paris and nearby suburbs): 6.30 EUR zones 1 - 3 (more suburbs, for example including La Défense Grande Arche): 8.40 EUR When I visited the Grande Arche some years ago, the zone system applied to the RER, but the entire Métro was considered part of Zone 1. So from central Paris to La Défense, if you took Métro Line 1 you paid the basic Zone 1 fare, but by RER Line A it was more. Is that still true and, if so, does it apply to Mobilis as well as single fares? -- Mark Brader "He added a 3-point lead" is pronounced Toronto differently in Snooker than in Typography... -- Liam Quin My text in this article is in the public domain. |

CDG is actually in zone 5. I have not heard of any restriction to use a valid Mobilis pass to reach CDG using RER B. I suppose that a large number of the persons who work in CDG have Navigo or Mobilis pass. But you cannot use them on Air France coaches. |
