Sun Princess...
I am going on the Sun Princess on Dec 11th, just wondering
opinions/expectations of others whom have been on this ship at this time! It shall be our first Carrib cruise (bing from Scotland were looking forward to it but not the long flight to get there!) Anyone has any pictures to share would be great too! Also what excursions do you reccomend? |

Sun Princess...
Brian, I've been to all these ports except Antigua, and I would say
there's no need to take ship's excursions at all in any of them. They're all inexpensive places to take a taxi or public transportation, and safe enough. Do some reading and figure out what interests you, then come back to rec.travel.cruises and post specific questions you may have, with subjects that will immediately let people know what you want help with. We sailed on the Sun Princess about 7 years ago; we thought it was a gorgeous ship. And the Caribbean is paradise. Eileen Brian M McGarvie wrote: "Brian M McGarvie" wrote in message ... Sun Princess...
Great itinerary, Brian, although a little port intensive for my taste.
If you like beaches, you have your pick of some fine ones. One thing that I would not miss, is Orient Bay or Beach on St. Martin. It's been rated numerous times as one of the ten best in the world. You'll find white sand, turquise water, great surf, good food, and potent drinks. There's even a nude section on the beach if your into, or would like to try, swimming and tanning au naturelle. If you decide to go, catch a cab at the pier. I recommend not doing any ship's tours on these wonderful islands. Grabbing a cab will be cheaper, more comfortable, and just plain more fun. Have a great time. Howie Brian M McGarvie wrote: "Brian M McGarvie" wrote in message ... If you decide to go, catch a cab at the pier. Because we had heard so much about Orient Bay Beach, we decided to see for ourselves in January while on the Radisson Navigator. We packed our stuff, jumped in a cab and off we went. Quite frankly, I didn't see what all the fuss was about. It's nice, but nothing more.
