"meet the locals" in USA/Canada
Hi
I wonder if there is some sort of organisation in the U.S/Canada that arranges for tourists to get invited to meet and get to know americans/canadians? You know, sort of a culture interchange? It should not be for longer visits, like months, but for a day or night? /Mikkel |

Look for one that does not use the words "sports bar" in their name and if you can possibly find one without a television set (inreasingly rare), you will find a wealth of conversation and local color. He'll get a pretty warped view of Canadians and Americans. /Mikkel Yes, they are called the "neighborhood bar", best found in the older parts of town. Also, see if your hometown has a "sister city" arrangement--often these include cultural interchanges. Nancy |

Book your holiday/holidays in different bed&breakfasts. Avoid the big and
expensive ones, as they are not always run by locals. "Mikkel Selsøe Sørensen" wrote in message ...
