Default Aeroplan

I really hope that I'm not bringing up an old thread, I haven't researched
the archives of this group.....but..

I was a milage collector when Canadian Airlines was, then I retired and so
did Canadian. Aeroplan took over my airmiles - a lot of them, (138,000) The
wife and I were thinking of a trip to Aus next year but I heard a rumor that
the nice folks at Aeroplan were shutting down accounts that had been dormant
for three years. I knew that I was close to that time frame so I called the
aforsaid nice folks at Aeroplan to see where I was. You guessed it.. they
had cnx my account.

I don't have a problem with the cancelling of dormant accounts, dead folk
seldom travel. I do have a problem with the NO WARNING that the account will
be terminated! Seems that Aeroplan (I got a call from them yesterday) likes
to advertise travel specials and are willing to include me, at dinner time,
by telephone, but they didn't have the corporate decency to warn me that my
account would expire. I can just see some corporate hack grinning as one
more milage liability bit the dust.

WestJet sure looks good!!!

Thanks for reading my rant.

Tom

So, will you be taking the dog and the laptop as well as the wife?
