Default Recommended Ship-Boarding Time? (and a tipping question)

If you are like me and don't frequent one bar, that can't happen. In the
course of a seven day cruise, I may drink at seven different bars.

It almost seemed like each bar waiter "adopted" say 100 passengers for
the week and took care of their bar needs. I don't think we were
served by any other bar staff, save the bartenders. Our waiter just
always seemed to be there.

But, it did happen. During the day, he was out on deck, and in the
evenings, he just always seemed to be where we were - and we visited
all the bars onboard. Maybe it's an HAL thing, or maybe we were being
stalked . Have you cruised on HAL? We've never had this happen on
other lines.

I'm sure we were served by another waiter or two at some point during
the cruise, but probably 8 out of 10 times, it was our one fellow that
was there when we needed him. Go figure.
