But is it safe to undercook Merlot? rim shot

Just don't put Mentos in Champagne and over cook it with the cork in.

A Fox news story that shows a worm in a lays brain and says that
supposedly worms will get you if you don't wash our hands and eat pork.

But Fox News also put out this story
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,485626,00.html

It says eating dirt and worms makes us healthier. So according to Fox
News wash your hands, don't eat pork, eat dirt and worms and you will
be healthier.

Now I remember why I watch CNN......

Ahhh, Charles, but that article that you said Fox News put out; they got
from the New York Times and Fox was just reporting it. Also the
neurosurgeon's warning about eating undercooked pork which leaves you with
the parasite that can be spread to others by the person who is infected and
does not wash their hands after using the rest room. Since one never knows
who has been exposed; washing hands is important on a cruise ship or at
home. It is especially true if you have a compromised immune system or are
elderly or very young.

OK Guys, let's not make this political...it was something sent to me and I
am passing it on as a newsworthy item stressing the importance of washing
your hands...Surely the neurosurgeon is not making up a story and the video
of the surgery should make an impact on the importance of what could occur
if people don't wash their hands. Doesn't matter WHO reported it..It
happened.

How did you determine it was the pork rather than anything else you ate
or drank?

Even if it was the pork it is not rational to give up pork. It would
have been that particular serving that made her sick, not all pork.

Rather than give up pork wouldn't it be better to call the restaurant
manager and make him aware of the problem. That way no one else will
suffer the same illness. Of course if there have been problems with
other dishes there, I'd no longer patronize this restaurant than give up
pork. Pork is better for you than white meat chicken. It's easier to
digest than chicken if you are having some sort of digestive problem.

The neurosurgeon probably wasn't making up the story (although I
couldn't see the video either - got an error message), but normally
you don't get worms from not washing your hands. You get them from
walk barefoot on infected soil or from eating something with worms in
it such as under cooked pork.

Not that it isn't important to wash your hands - just that it's not
for THAT reason. As the other articles mentioned - a certain amount
of dirt is good for you. Cook any pork well, have your pets dewormed
regularly and keep your kids from eating dog poo.

If you add "Don't eat yellow snow" you have almost everything covered.
